Assessment Criteria
Abstracts will undergo a blind review process, with assessment based on the following criteria:
- Alignment with the congress theme
- Scientific significance and robustness of the research, including methodological soundness and contribution to current knowledge
- Overall quality, clarity, and comprehensiveness of the abstract
Marking Scheme:
- Text Abstract: 20% Originality, 20% Methodology & Design, 20% Appropriateness Of Data Analysis, 20% Significance Of Results, 20% Clinical Relevance & Utility
- Video: 15% Written Summary, 50% Content, 25% Methodology, 10% Video Quality
Submission Process and General Info
- Authors must create user account at the Congress Abstract Portal to submit the abstract online. Abstracts received through offline methods such as email, WhatsApp, or any other tool will not be considered by the scientific committee.
- More than one abstract can be submitted from one user account.
- Authors may indicate their preferred presentation format (oral, e-poster, or video); however, the final decision rests with the scientific committee after evaluation.

Abstract Content
- Abstracts must present original scientific data collected by the author(s). Only completed work will be accepted; reports based on preliminary or "in progress" studies, such as those containing statements like “results will be discussed” or “data will be presented,” will not be considered.
- The language of the abstract should be clear, concise, and in proper English.
- Each abstract should include:
- A descriptive title
- Full names of all authors, including first names and surnames
- One affiliation per author, including the country
- All abbreviations must be defined at first mention
- A structured body with sections: Introduction/Background, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion
- Refrain from using bold or italics in the text.
- The total length of the abstract must not exceed 300 words.
Video Submission

Participants must submit both a written abstract describing the procedure or operation to be demonstrated and the relevant clinical scenario, along with the actual video recording.

The video length should be limited to 2 to 3 minutes.

The video must include a voice-over explanation; background music is not permitted.

All video links must be shared directly through the abstract submission portal with open access—attachments sent via email will not be accepted.

Respect copyright laws: Only upload videos you created or have explicit authorization to use. Do not include content owned by others without permission, such as copyrighted clips or videos created by other individuals.

Videos with promotional or commercial content will not be eligible for presentation. If your submission is funded or sponsored by a commercial entity, this must be clearly stated in a disclaimer at the beginning of the video.
Figures
- Up to six figures are permitted and must be uploaded as separate files.
- Each figure should be numbered clearly (e.g., Figure 1).
- Figures must be referenced within the abstract text corresponding to each figure.
- Accepted formats include .jpeg and .png.
- The minimum resolution for figures is 72 dpi.
- Figure legends should be included within the abstract text, not embedded in the figure file(s).
Editing

Changes to submissions are allowed up until the specified deadline. Requests for resubmission, different versions, or deletion after submission will not be entertained.

The committee will not edit or proofread abstracts; any spelling, grammatical, or factual errors will remain as originally submitted by the author.

Abstracts will be formatted and adjusted to the conference’s style guidelines as necessary.
License to Publish

All authors submitting abstracts must grant an exclusive, worldwide license to the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA), the International Federation of Societies of Endoscopic Surgeons (IFSES), and/or their co-owners or partnering societies (as published on their behalf), in accordance with ELSA and IFSES’s standard licensing terms.

It is the responsibility of the submitting author to ensure that the corresponding or lead author is aware that by submitting the abstract, they agree to these licensing terms and conditions. As this is an exclusive license, the author’s signed consent (which can be electronic) must be obtained and kept as evidence, available to provide to ELSA and IFSES upon written request.

Notification and Presentation Format
- Acceptance notifications, including details about the presentation format, will be issued by July 15, 2026.
- The Scientific Committee reserves the right to determine the presentation format and topics. Due to limited slots, some abstracts may be reassigned to different formats.
- Only the corresponding author will receive the acceptance or rejection notification. It is the corresponding author’s responsibility to inform all co-authors of the outcome. Authors with accepted abstracts will receive further instructions regarding their presentation.
- If an invited presenter fails to confirm participation by the registration deadline, their abstract or video may be withdrawn. Similarly, declined invitations will result in automatic withdrawal of the abstract.

Terms & Conditions
- The Scientific Committee holds the authority to make the final decision on abstract acceptance and scheduling, considering the topics and available time slots.
- Authors must disclose if the material has been previously published, presented at other congresses, or received any awards when submitting their abstract.
- All presenters are required to complete registration and be present at the congress by August 30, 2026.
- A Certificate of Appreciation will be awarded to all presenters in recognition of their contribution.
