About ELSA

ELSA (Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia) is a non-profit organization formed by a group of pioneers passionate about endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery in Asia. Established in 1990 and formally registered in Singapore on June 12, 1992, ELSA’s mission is to promote and advance minimally invasive surgery in the region through education, research, collaboration, and the development of best practice standards. Today, ELSA stands as a key representative body for endoscopic surgery in the Asia–Pacific and is a founding member of the International Federation of Societies of Endoscopic Surgeons (IFSES). Its leadership comprises prominent figures in minimally invasive surgery from 37 member countries, spanning from Turkey in the west to New Zealand in the east. By fostering professional exchange and building a strong network across borders, ELSA continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of endoscopic surgery in Asia and beyond.

About VASEL

VASEL (Vietnam Association for Surgery and Endolaparosurgery) is a leading professional organization in Vietnam dedicated to advancing surgical practice, particularly minimally invasive and endolaparoscopic surgery. Established with mission to foster education, research, and professional exchange, VASEL has played a pivotal role in training thousands of surgeons through numerous courses and national conferences over the past two decades.

It supports active development and adoption of endoscopic techniques across diverse specialties, helping transform minimally invasive surgery into a standard modality in Vietnamese surgical care. As the organizer of prestigious events such as the National Conference on Surgical Science and Endoscopic Surgery (VASEL 2024), the association continues to shape the future of surgical innovation and collaboration in the region.

About Hue Central Hospital

The hospital was among the earliest in Vietnam to adopt minimally invasive surgery and has since achieved comprehensive application across all surgical specialties. From gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, thoracic, and cardiovascular surgery to oncology, urology, gynecology, and advanced endoscopic techniques, Hue Central Hospital has demonstrated exceptional expertise and integration of these methods into routine practice.

As a co-host of the ELSA Congress 2026, in collaboration with ELSA and the Vietnam Association for Surgery and Endolaparosurgery, Hue Central Hospital will contribute its pioneering experience, clinical excellence, and state-of-the-art facilities to ensure the success of this prestigious international event.
