Visa & Immigration

Vietnam is increasingly recognized for its openness to international travelers, with numerous visa exemption programs and convenient online procedures. Currently, citizens of over 20 countries and territories are exempt from visas when entering Vietnam, with permitted stays ranging from 14 to 45 days depending on nationality.

For nationalities requiring a visa, Vietnam offers an e-visa for citizens of more than 80 countries and territories. The e-visa is valid for up to 90 days, allows single or multiple entries, and is processed online within approximately 3–5 working days via the Vietnam e-Visa Portal (https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn). In addition, travelers may apply for visas at Vietnamese diplomatic missions abroad or through authorized service providers.

Please note that a Vietnam visa is not an immigration permit. Entry permission and the specific length of stay are determined by immigration officers at the port of entry, based on your purpose of travel and entry documents. The permitted stay is indicated on the entry stamp or accompanying documentation.

All travelers entering Vietnam via international air, land, or sea checkpoints are encouraged to complete the entry declaration form online prior to arrival to save processing time. The official portal for this declaration is https://tokhai.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn – please be aware of fraudulent websites or unnecessary paid services.
